The correct team name was actually the Hamburg Blue Devils. They were a sports franchise in Hamburg, Germany, playing American style football. (Original "football" -- what Americans call soccer -- is the normally dominant sport in Europe.) The Hamburg Blue Devils were established in 1992, and were instrumental in founding the Football League of Europe in 1994. After the 1994 season, the Blue Devils moved to the German Football League (another league playing American style football).
