I believe the probability of rolling a number greater than 5 would be 1 out of 6, 1 being the number 6, being the only number above 5 on the dice, and 6, the number of numbers on a dice. For a number that is less then 4, the probability would probably be 1 out of 6 again, but for all those numbers total, 3 out of 6.

The probability is the ratio of the favorable event to the total number of events. Then the probability of rolling a number greater than 5 and less than 4 is 0.1667 and 0.5.
What is probability?
Probability means possibility. It deals with the occurrence of a random event. The value of probability can only be from 0 to 1. Its basic meaning is something is likely to happen.
A single die is rolled one time.
Total event = 6 {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
Then the probability of rolling a number greater than 5 will be
Favorable event = 1 {6}
Then the probability will be
[tex]\rm P = \dfrac{1}{6} = 0.1667[/tex]
Then the probability of rolling a number less than 4 will be
Favorable event = 3 {1, 2, 3}
Then the probability will be
[tex]\rm P = \dfrac{3}{6} = \dfrac{1}{2} = 0.5[/tex]
