How do I solve this problem?

A restaurant is at 75% capacity with 120 patrons. How many people are in the restaurant when it is at 100% capacity?

Respuesta :

Easy. We use PROPORTIONS!!
[tex] \frac{120}{x} = \frac{75}{100} [/tex]
Now we cross multiply
120*100 = 75*x
Simplify
12000 = 75x
And get our trusty calculator out to solve.
The calculator says the answer is 160.
The restaurant can seat up to 160 people
120 ---- 75%
x-----100%

x=120*100/75=160

or par/whole= 0.75
whole=120/0.75=160
