The people in the Odyssey have no problem boasting or bragging, but they also warn against excessive pride. What's the difference? When is it okay to talk big, and when do you need to be a little more humble.

I can't really tell you the answer to this without including my own opinion. In times of trouble it is usually okay to talk big as long as there is meaning and seriousness behind it. In situations where you need to be humble is in fact like the story of jesus on the cross and we all know that story

I believe it is okay to tell the truth about our accomplishments. It may sound as if we are bragging, but all we are actually doing is being truthful. On the other hand, talking about our accomplishments does not mean praising ourselves - that is excessive pride.

We should not praise or compliment ourselves in front of other people. We can simply tell them what we did and how we did it. That is a sign that we are humble. Also, it is good to remain humble when we know the other person is struggling.

First, jot down any ideas that come to your mind about pride. Ask yourself how you would define pride, whether or not it is a good thing, when it is okay to show some pride and when it is not.

Begin to draft your answer. Clearly state your opinion concerning pride and explain why you think that way. Then, revise your draft for any grammar or spelling mistakes, as well as cohesion.
