what is the difference between anaphase 1 and anaphase 2? Why is this different significant?

Respuesta :

Anaphase 1 -- a homologous pair is being pulled apart by spindle fibers.

Anaphase 2 -- the spindle fibers attaches to the centromere and pulls 2 pieces of the same chromosome apart.

The difference is significant because the chromosomes are aligned in different directions.

Anaphase 1 occurs in a diploid cell and anaphase 2 occurs in a haploid cell
