In the work, “Very Hungy God,” Subodh Gupta created a sculpture in the form of a human skull. The sculpture is made out of metal. Upon close inspection of the metal human skull, one can see that the type of metal is steel. In fact, precisely, Subodh Gupta used steel pots, pans, cans, and buckets. The name is fitting because these are the types of materials that people use to cook—when they are hungry.
