The answer is ''hot spot''. ''Hot spots'' are places in the middle of the plates or further away from the boundaries, where there is an intense volcanic activity and magma rises upward until it erupts on the seafloor, or in some cases (rarely), like the Hawaii islands, it pushes the seafloor upwards towards the surface and rises above it and creates volcanic islands. Unlike the boundaries of the plates that are colliding or subducting and are always on the move, the ''hot spots'' are fixed, pretty much static, so they are not affected a lot by the movement of the plate itself.
