What does Odysseus do when he meets King Alcinous and Queen Arete? He introduces himself as Odysseus and asks for help returning home to Ithaca. He informs them that he is in love with their daughter, Nausicaa. He flings himself around Arete's knees and begs for passage home. He asks if he can compete in the athletic games that will be played after the feast.

 He flings himself around Arete's knees and begs for passage home. I believe that just may the the correct answer based on the fact that this would what he really wanted from Arete's, and nothing else is what he wanted.
