Bailey studies 3 days for her final exam in history. The first day she studied 1 1/2 hours on day 2 she studied 1/2 as long as she did on day 1 and on day 3 she studied 2 1/2 times as long as she did on day 1. How many hours did she study over the three day period?

1st day: 1 1/2 hours
2nd day: half of first day = 1/2 * 1 1/2 hours
3rd day: 2 1/2 times as long as first day: 2 1/2 * 1 1/2 hours

= 3/2 + 1/2 * 3/2 + 5/2 * 3/2

= 3/2 + 3/4 + 15/4
