In a can, there are 18.5 ounces of tomato sauce, which is equivalent to 524 grams. If Tanya uses only 10 ounces of tomato sauce for cooking, what is the amount, in grams, of the tomato sauce she used? Round your answer to the nearest whole gram

write and solve an equation of ratios:


18.5 oz      524 gr
---------- = -----------
 10 oz            x

Then 18.5x = 5240, and x = 5240 gr / 18.5   = 283.2 grams (answer)
