Suppose the dimensions of the prism is :
base length = l
base width = w
height = h
So, the volume of the prism will be = [tex] l*w*h [/tex]
And this volume will be equal to 72 as given in question , so
[tex] l*w*h = 72 [/tex]
Now, when the prism is enlarged using a scale factor of 3, new dimensions will be
base length = 3l
base width = 3w
height = 3h
So the volume will be = [tex] 3l*3w*3h = 27 l*w*h [/tex]
Putting the value of [tex] l*w*h [/tex] as 72
So, new volume will be = [tex] 27 * 72 = 1944 [/tex] cubic meter : Answer
