the white square inside the red square. You are given the side of the white
square as x + 2 and the side of the red square as 3(x + 2). This can be solved
through ratio and proportion.
A (white square) = (x + 2)^2
A (red square) = [3(x +2)]^2
A (red square)/A (white square) = [3(x +2)]^2/(x + 2)^2
A (red square)/A (white square) = 3^2 = 9
