After that, it become one of the most important terms during The Cold War. It was the boundary dividing Europe into separate areas after the World War II. It symbolized the efforts of the Soviet Union to block itself and its allies from direct contact with western and non-Soviet areas. The Cold War was a state of political and military tension between the two main super powers after the World War II. The first was the United States, as a leader of Western Bloc and the other was the Soviet Union, as a leader of Eastern Bloc.
