-- Light a candle.  Chemical energy stored in the wax
is converted to light and heat.

-- Turn a flashlight on.  Chemical energy stored in the battery
is converted to electrical energy, which flows through the wiring
to the light-bulb. As the electric current current flows through the
bulb, electrical energy is converted to light and heat.

-- Plug a fan into a wall outlet.  Electric current flows through
the line-cord to the motor, where electrical energy is converted
to kinetic energy.  The kinetic energy of the motor is sent to turn
the fan blades, where it is used to move air.

-- Electromagnetic energy from the sun strikes the surface of a
photoelectric cell, where it is converted to electrical energy.
