Length of rectangular paper = 2 m
width of rectangular paper = [tex] 1 \frac{1}{4} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{5}{4} [/tex]
Area of rectangle = Length * width
= 2 * [tex] \frac{5}{4} [/tex]
= [tex] \frac{10}{4} [/tex]
Diagonal divides the rectangle into two pieces.
So we divide the area by 2
Area of each piece =[tex] \frac{\frac{10}{4}}{2} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{5}{4} [/tex]
