There are many ways that a person can fulfill their civic duties.  One can be when they are summoned to jury duty to help determine an important case.  Another is when they actively support government projects that could benefit either their community or their country.  They can also take part in social movements that can stir the country towards the path of progress.

Citizens can impact the government by voting, paying taxes, going to jury duty, obeying the law, etc. By voting, you are helping make a big decision in your state or country. Some people also believe that if you vote you are more likely to volunteer, contact their elected officials, and stay informed about local affairs. By paying your taxes you are giving money to places like schools, hospitals, police stations, fire stations. Your taxes also help those in need. Like if someone needs food stamps or government help like that.
