The green organelle is the CHLOROPLAST.
It contains chlorophyll, which absorbs light energy and convert it into chemical energy, in form of ATP and NADPH. This reaction takes place in this organelle only. And since chlorophyll is a pigment delivering green color, so its chloroplast. The process of conversion of this energy is called as photosynthesis.
