In the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin, millions upon millions of people lost their lives for mere suspicion of opposing Stalin's rule. What effect do you think this reality had on opposition to Stalin's policies in the Soviet Union?
Joseph Stalin was a ruthless dictator who did not like opposition or any more of dissent.
Throughout his rule, Stalinist policies were focused on using a spy network, military police and other personnel to constantly keep a check on his close aides as well as suspected opposition parties and the general public.
He systematically killed many people from his opposition, at one point completely eliminating any serious political threat to his power in Soviet Union.
