It is the term used to describe a certain group of people with distinct cultural norms and language being recognized in the society. This term is highly applicable to a marginalized group of people such as the African-Americans, LGBT people, and women.
The recognition of their coexistence certainly creates a harmonious relationship among the members of the society.
