This is a fairly common probability question. It is done with areas.

Area of the small square = 7 * 7 = 49

Area of the large square = 10 * 10 = 100

P(outside the small square but inside the large) = (100 - 49)/100 = 0.51

So the point is about 50% likely to be in the frame of the small square.
