Chemical bond is defined bond which binds the two atoms in a molecule of a compound with each other either by sharing of electrons or by transferring of electrons.

Generally there are three types Chemical bond :

1. Ionic bond is defined as the bond which is formed by complete transfer of electrons from one atom to another atom.

The atom which looses the electron is known as electropositive atom and the atom which gains the electron is known as electronegative atom. This bond is usually formed between a metal and a non-metal.

2. Covelent bond is defined as the bond which is formed by sharing of electrons from one atom to another atom. This bond is usually formed between those atoms which have zero or less electronegative difference.

3. Metallic bond is a bond which is formed between the positively charged atoms in which free electrons are shared among a lattice of cations.
