Panic is a stressful situation that arouses fear and anxiety, causing the human being to look for quick alternatives to get out of the danger situation. When in a group, a generalized panic arouses uncoordinated actions, where each individual makes a decision to protect himself from any threat. This is called the herd effect.
For example, in a shooting situation, everyone will do something to protect themselves, but the panic effect is widespread - herd effect - when everyone panics along.
