Symbolic interactionism is a sociological theory that argues that society is a product of everyday social interactions among individuals. The theory studies how people use symbols in order to create meaning.
When an interaction is repeated, it creates meaning. This meaning is interpreted by individuals and this shared knowledge gives rise to their social context.
Therefore, symbolic interactionists look at interactions between individuals, and at the symbols created within these interactions, when they view modern society.
I just answered it on Apex but I kind of forgot what it said but the answer has something with the words "personal interactions" i believe. Sorry if im not any help. :/
