Mr. Wilson teaches math to 12 students. After marking all the tests, the average score was 82. He realized that one student’s test was marked incorrectly. He added 12 points to that test. What is the new class average?

And if there are 12 students, the total sum of all 12 tests should be
82 x 12 = 984

Add 12 points to the original sum

984+12 = 996
