Can you sue your landlord for a black mold issue, that was caused by their poor maintenance on an AC, that caused leaking, that caused mold in California?

If it causes any type of property damage (leakage) or health-related problems/concerns you can sue your landlord in other states. However, in California, you can't sue because landlords aren't required to test for any mold. They may give you money for relocation, but you can't sue them.

It is a heavy lack of maintenance, and it can cause destruction on your property, in which that destruction is under your inconvenience.

Landlords may not be required to check the AC maintenance, however you can still probably put up a fight in court.
