The fact that the colony of New Jersey had so many different churches, showed that the colonists enjoyed their religious freedom. 

I believe the answer is: colonists enjoyed religious freedom.

The existence of different religious establishment indicates that the colonists has high level of tolerance among other people with different belief. High number of churches would also indicate that at that time, the church held a really strong influence in both economic and political condition in the Area.
