Based on the excerpt, it is narrated that General Clinton is concerned about the plans and actions of General Howe and writes a letter which masks his identity to General Burgoyne regarding the issue.

Furthermore, we were meant ton know that even if the letter was intercepted by American forces, it had a lot of disinformation to fool them and send them on a wild goose chase, but General Burgoyne would be able to decipher the content of the letter.
