Answer: B) Algae
R. H. Whittaker in the year 1969 proposed a five kingdom classification. The kingdom proposed by him includes monera, fungi, protista, animalia and plantae. The main attributes on the basis of which the classification was based includes cell structure, mode of nutrition, organization of the structures, reproduction and lastly phylogenetic relationships. The algae were not placed in the separate kingdom instead they were included in the kingdom plantae. As, the kingdom plantae includes all the eukaryotic chlorophyll containing photosynthesizing plants.
