Social justice is a very important concept to be implemented in all countries, mainly those that present a large number of people in social vulnerability because of a great economic inequality among citizens, such as South Africa.
Social justice is achieved through projects that provide equal rights and solidarity with the most needy. In countries like those found in South Africa, social justice is achieved through free basic services, such as education and health, for people who they do not have the economic resources to pay them. In this case, it is important that citizens who have sufficient resources to pay for these services do not use them free of charge, as they would spend the limited resources of the services and prevent a needy person from being served.
However, the constant cases of political corruption, embezzlement of money and improper use of public services by people with high purchasing value, have prevented the needy population from having effective access to resources and this has defeated and frustrated the concept of social justice and the result that it imposes on a nation.
Some people frustrate the achievement through corruption and the improper use of public services.
In South Africa, some basic services like electricity, water, sanitation, etc are provided for the people. This is done to ensure social justice in the country.
- Social justice is when everyone in society has access to the resources that are available. This is to ensure that no one is left out.
- Despite the ideals of social justice, there are some individuals who frustrate this ideal. For example, when one uses the services inefficiently such as wasting of water. Also, corruption on the part of some government employees can also frustrate the ideals.
In conclusion, cases of corruption, and mismanagement can have a negative impact on the nation.
