Mike is giving roses to some children at a carnival. He has 7 red roses, 8 yellow roses, and 9 white roses. If Mike selects a rose randomly without looking, what is the probability that he will give a white rose to the first child and then a yellow rose to the second child

probability first pick is white : 9/24 
probability second pick is yellow : 8/23

probability of both : 9/24 * 8/23 = 72/552 reduces  3/23 <====
