Poverty is the leading cause of most of the problems we face in America... People resort to gang violence and drug selling/ or addictions to step out of the reality they are in for one and gangs claim to provide you with protection and money.. who struggling wouldnt take that opportunity if thats all they had.
People who tend to live in poverty are surrounded by uncleanliness- intentional or unintentional but having a clean environment is usually least of their concerns. People that are okay with living in that lifestyle and are content with how they are living and do nothing to change it they usually become addicts... Then they tend to use un clean needles while SHARING THEM amongst others... and cigarettes spreading different bacteria and germs. this is how AIDS, herpes, hepatitis, syphilis, and other things spread within a group of struggling people.
Ive seen it personally. Now if i had a magic wand i would introduce them into a rehab facility and set them up with a nice roof over their heads to come home too. I wouldnt necessarily give them money because that can be used for their supply and habits but i would use that wand to supply them with nourishment, a cook book to give them something to do with themselves, a tv and internet to keep them entertained, and a recreational group that includes activities for them to put themselves in so they have something to look forward too and involvement with other healthy people to surround themselves with.
Unfortunately i dont have a wand- nor am i rich enough to put all of this into place so i will continue to protest for the rights of the unforgotten. They have gone through hell and back for all i know and some of them have no assistance or are even acknowledged of their struggles. Id like people to reach out to me and to others so they can be heard and receive the help they deserve. :)
