Since the US and the USSR were making atomic, hydrogen, and nuclear bombs during the cold war, both countries had more and more nuclear tension. As time went on, spies were sent out and came back with Intel that more bombs were being made resulting in both countries going to war where there was many nuclear threats, etc.
