They will break through all the trammels that bind them and rush forward along the road to liberation. A revolution is not like inviting people to dinner, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so ‘benign, upright, courteous, temperate, and complaisant.’ A revolution is an uprising, an act of violence whereby one class overthrows the power of another. A rural revolution is a revolution in which the peasantry overthrows the power of the feudal landlord class. One way in which the passage reflects a cause of the Communist Revolution in China lies in the opinion against the power of the landlord class, and the position it holds. Though it is brief, it shows distaste to those with more power and overall distaste with the idea of capitalism. These are reasons as to why the Communist Revolution began in China.  

One way in which the policies of the Great Leap Forward were a result of the priorities set forth in the passage lies in the affect this report had on people, inspiring people to go forth with their communist ideals and fully, violently dedicate themselves to it.

One other example of a movement to redistribute resources or land following 1900 CE is the Treaty of Versailles. In the given treaty, land claimed by the Axis Powers was divvied back up and given back to the overtaken territories. Though this is different from the Communist Revolution, it too is a redistribution of resources.

A) One way in which the passage reflects a cause of the Communist Revolution in China is the unfair social structure. The passage addresses the power inequality between peasants and feudal lords, which implies that this takes place in feudalism China. In feudalism, people are born into their roles and it was very difficult to climb the social ladder, as there was a large gap between the rich and the poor.

B) One way in which the policies of the Great Leap Forward were a result of the priorities set forth in the passage is how both had the goal of evenly distributing power. It is shown in the passage that the peasants were no longer going to put up with the unfair social structure. This was acted upon in the Great Leap Forward when the social classes were completely evened out into one low class.

C) One other example of a movement to redistribute resources or land following 1900 CE was the Treaty of Versailles. This treaty divided German occupied land and and gave it to the winning side, the Allied Powers. It differs greatly from the Great Leap Forward and other communist events, but it is an example of the redistribution of land.
