Why did the conflict last between the u.s gov and Native Americans lead to the trail of tears

It lead to the trail of tears because Andrew Jackson he wanted the lands east of the Mississippi River so he created the Indian Removal Act. The Cherokee where moved to what we know know as Oklahoma
