Hi student, let me help you out! :)

We are asked to multiply 16 times 1/4.

To do that, we should first turn 16 into a fraction by giving it a denominator of 1:

[tex]\mathtt{\cfrac{16}{1}}[/tex]

Now, we multiply this fraction times 1/4; follow these three steps:

1. Multiply the numerator of the first fraction times the numerator of the second fraction:

16*1=16

2. Do the exact same thing with the denominator:

1*4=4

The fraction is:

[tex]\mathtt{\cfrac{16}{4}}[/tex]

Upon reducing the fraction, we get 4.

Hope it helps you out! :D
