This was the name that was used to refer to the movement in the United States that was intended to bring an end to slavery in the United States and in Europe. The movement was due to the way that the black man was used in the nation. There was no freedom for the black man. He was not seen as an equal person with the white. The laws that were applied to him were different and meant to keep him down in the nation.

The movements were trying to tell the people that they were tired of being treated that way and they needed things to change in the country for blacks.
