Japan bombed pearl harbor on December 7, 1941.

They attacked pearl harbor because it was a U.S. naval base. They destroyed 19 ships, 188 aircraft and killing over 2,000 Americans. Another reason why they may have bombed pearl harbor is to drive the United States into WW2. I hope this helps.

Have a wonderful rest of the day :).
