ago A high school student working part-time as a shelf stocker had a gross income of $6675 last year. If his federal tax rate was 10% and his state tax rate was 3%, what was the amount withheld from his pay last year in federal tax, state tax, and FICA combined?

Respuesta :

What is withheld from your paycheck is rarely the exact amount you will owe in taxes, thus the need for tax returns.

But, if you're assuming the EXACT amount the student owed was withheld..

Fed 10% + State 3% + FICA (which I believe is 7.65%.. but not 100% sure) then total taxes withheld would be 20.65%.

$6675 x 20.65% = $1378.39 (rnded to nearest cent) withheld.

Hope this helps

1378.39 is the answer
