Answer:
Dear Anne,
How has your week been? Mine has been good, not much has happened. Oh but I did stain one of my favorite blouses! It’s a shame because I was going to wear it today under my brown dress. But after my literature class on Friday, momma’s going down to the river to wash it so hopefully it will come out. I ran into Mary at the fruit stand the other day. She’s been telling everyone she saw Michelangelo at church last Sunday. She swears it! I think she's lying. She ought to be, right Anne? If she’s not then I need her to show me to him because as you know, he’s my favorite artist! If I got to see him in person I think I would just faint. He is such a huge inspiration to me but since I can’t paint, I’ve been starting to pick up reading as a hobby. I’m so thankful for the printing press. Now we could read the same book if we wanted even though we’re many miles away! I just got my hands on a book by this author who goes by William Shakespeare. It’s called Hamlet. Have you ever heard of it? I’ll give it a try and hope for the best. I did the same thing when I listened to William Byrd’s new song, “Sing Joyfully Unto God.” I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised by it. When you get the chance, you should look into it, trust me. It hasn’t been the same since you moved. I miss you Anne!
Your Friend,
Mary Allsworth
