One way the Romans were able to maintain their empire was by converting their whole empire to Christianity! Did you know that Clovis I was the first Roman leader to convert to Christianity? Also, Charlamagne (the best Roman leader of all time) would put others to death if they would not accept the fact that they would convert. Hope this helps! =)
