Please help with these 2 questions!!

1 -Steven had 24 pineapples. He sold 6 of them. What fraction of the pineapples did he sell?

2 -Nancy bought 8 m of string. She used 5/8 of string to make a flower pot hanger. How much of the string did she have left?

Hey there,

Question : Steven had 24 pineapples. He sold 6 of them. What fraction of the pineapples did he sell? 

Answer : 
6 / 24 ----> divide by 6
            = 1 / 4 (simplified version)

Question : Nancy bought 8 m of string. She used 5/8 of string to make a flower pot hanger. How much of the string did she have left? 

Answer : 
8 - 5 / 8 = 7 3 / 8

1. 6/24 is the fraction which can be simplified further to 1/4.

2. 8 - 5/8 = 3/8

Nancy had 3/8 of the string left.
