Their prey started reproduce more and more and so the food they ate they were eating a lot of it and then that food could’ve also been for another animal and so that animal would die off because it’s not eating enough and the predator trying to eat that animal is starving too because their prey are dying off before they can even hunt them

The wolves are the keystone species of the Yellowstone ecosystem. They prey on other organism, hence, maintain a balance in the forest. in case, the wolves are removed, the animals, which are the prey of the wolves would increase, which may lead to increase in competition and exploitation of the resources and eventually an unbalanced ecosystem.  Hence, the wolves are very important to Yellowstone.
