We have the square and four half of the circles.

The area of the square:

[tex]A_s=3^2=9\ m^2[/tex]

The area of the four half of the circles is equal the area of two circles.

[tex]A_c=\pi\cdot1.5^2=2.25\pi\ m^2[/tex]

The area of the figure:

[tex]A_F=A_s+2A_c\to A_F=9 +2\cdot2.25\pi=(9+4.5\pi)m^2[/tex]
