A DEPENDENT CLAUSE is a group of words containing a subject and a predicate, but is not a sentence on its own.
Subject is the noun or pronoun being referred to in the clause.
Predicate are words that complete the sentence. It usually starts with the verb of the sentence.
A dependent clause is not a sentence even though it has a subject and a predicate because it does not convey a complete thought.
Dependent clause can only be useful in a sentence when it accompanies an independent clause.
Three types of dependent clauses are adjective clause, adverb clause, and noun clause.
