Protect plant against herbivorous insect. Plants have many adaptions to withstand adverse conditions. Insects attack plants and the stems are destroyed to get the juice. Plants have morophological or physiological adaptaions against such insects. Some plants have thorns which is a morphological adaptation. Here the production of toxic substance is a physiological adaptation.
